Condos in Toronto; the Heart of it All?
Toronto is known as the city of high-rises with more than 2,000 buildings taller than 300 ft (90 meters). Many people say that condos in Toronto don’t have an integrated architectural style because the city of Toronto, and therefore the condos in Toronto, is the result of different architectural periods. While many condos in Toronto have been recently developed in the 2000s, some other condos in Toronto date back in the mid 1800s.
Toronto is indeed a popular city accommodating people and families from around the world and a variety of nationalities but at the same time, with a very much friendly attitude toward this. This has made Toronto a perfect destination for many. Toronto is also a city with a considerably low rate of crime as well as high living standards with clean environment. These all have made the city of Toronto a perfect and one of the most livable destinations for many.
Most of the condos in Toronto are high-rises, but the central business district has generally taller office towers for commercial purposes. Most residential condos in Toronto have a different character from the commercial towers. In fact, residential condos in Toronto have their own historical background and architectural character.
Condos in Toronto downtown are located in the heart of the city hum. Most of the skyscrapers in downtown Toronto are concentrated in the Financial District of Toronto and the condos in Toronto downtown are in Toronto’s historic core.
The condos in east and west of downtown Toronto are usually situated in commercial and cultural areas while there are studio lofts in this area generally for artists suitable for the vibrant community of Toronto downtown.
Condos in Toronto’s inner suburbs are generally located in working class areas which are characterized as mature and relatively traditional. These areas generally include single-family homes inspired by post-WWI urban needs.
However, there are some neighborhoods in the inner suburbs of Toronto with high-rise condos and apartments. This is while many condos in Toronto’s inner suburbs have been replaced or remodeled especially since 2000 onwards.
Development activities grew quickly specifically in the suburbs of Toronto after WWII and higher density condos in Toronto’s suburbs became more on demand.
Toronto has a wide range of public spaces and condos in these areas are potentially quite popular as they are generally closer to city squares, public parks etc.
A Piece of fact:
The oldest building in Toronto is called Scadding Cabin at Exhibition Place which was built in 1794 by Queen’s York Rangers.
