I didn’t know that until I found this out on a manufacturer’s list. Toyota actually makes the Lexus’. So Lexus is really in the Toyota family. Did anybody already know this?

And the rumor is that you get some of that Lexus quality on their less expensive models (like the Avalon?). Even the same 3.5 Liter engine may be used. I’d still rather have the Lexus name on the car, but I can’t afford to pay for it.
DUH! I thought everyone knew that, lol. Did you know Volvo is a division of Ford. Infinity is a division of Nissan. Chrysler is a division of Mercedes and on and on and on.

Yeah, I think most of us knew that. We also knew that Acura is made by Honda, and Infiniti is made by Nissan, and Cadillac is made by General Motors, and Lincoln is made by Ford.
Yep…Lexus is the luxury brand of Toyota just as Acura & Infiniti are the luxury brands of Honda & Nissan respectively. Also notice that these luxury brands do not use a name for a model, like Corolla etc. but numbers and letters, like GS40 etc…kinda Mercedes and Beemer style…makes it sound expensive

YES. Cadillac used to have a commercial where they said “a Lexus is just an upgraded Toyota”.
MY thoughts were: Gee, how could you do any better than that?
You take one of the finest cars on earth and build an upgraded model of it.

Yes, i knew that a long time ago, Lexus is almost like the higher end toyota. But they are both good cars. It’s nice that you are always learning something new!

Actually TMC (Toyota Motor Corporation) manufacturers Toyota and Lexus brand vehicles, is in partnership with GM in the NUMMI plant in California which built cars for both Toyota and Chevrolet, and owns significant stakes in other vehicle manufacturers in including Daihatsu.
Some other things you may not have known:
Nissan makes Infiniti.
Honda makes Acura.
Volkswagen makes Audi.
