i need to know a whistle sound in my mercedes benz 560 if i hit hard on my accelerator it does a whistle sound is this somethong to be alarmed about ? if any one has the answers to this please help thanks

It is either a vacuum leak from a rubber vacuum line or a loose belt that is screeching when the engine revs. If the sound is behind the dashboard or you hear any hissing or a sighing sound when you shut off the engine it is likely a vacuum leak. If it only happens on acceleration or when you rev the engine check the belts. Remember it has a double pulley and one belt can be loose [noisy] and the other properly tensioned. Lastly make sure the air filter lid is secure and the PCV breather tube is not cracked or brittle.
the color of the car wouldnt happen to be gold would it. I used to have a 88 560 SEL that had the loudest whistle sound when i sold it. Its probably comin from the exhaust.
