Plus, the mount disassembles quickly when you return back home for easy storage in your garage or closet.

Mine just arrived today, when I put it together I noticed that the holes in the wooden board that the motor attaches to are a little bigger than the washers provided. If you try to tighten the nuts the washers sink down into the board therefore not serving their purpose. I had to go to the hardware store to get bigger washers to fit. May be just mine but just thought you should know before you take it out. You may have to get bigger washers….I got a set of regular washers. Overall it serves its purpose and with $0.30 worth of washers it works fine.

One thing I like about this mount, you don’t need any tools to put it on the boat. It uses bolts with sturdy thumb type screws and your done. Also, can’t go wrong with good solid marine plywood. In the end, its a motor mount and it does what it is designed to do for the intex boats. Holds that little Minn Kota Endura 30 really good. The mount can accept a 3.5hp but on the Excursion boats you can only put up to a 1.5hp or up to 18 lbs motor weight. If you want to go to a 3.5 you will need to get a Sea Hawk II or Mariner boat.

I just received my mount today and I have to admit that its perfect. Easy to set up. But only one flaw, there is a real strong odor or maple or pine. Other then that it is a well built mount. Will let every one know later if it fits a Inflatable Challenger 3 with a 40 thrust motor in a comment on this review some time next week.

I would not recomend the use of an electic trolling motor in this particular water craft. The battery is too cumbersome as well as unstable. These conditions can cause poor contact with the battery conections;therefore frequent motor disruptions. I’m guessing the best motor for the job would be a low horse power gas motor with the gas on the motor as seen in the illustration .
