The revolutionary MOUNTEK MT5000 solution will hold virtually any small portable gadget, such as cellular phones, GPS receivers, satellite radio players and more! PATENT PENDING DESIGN. It uses NO SUCTION CUPS, NO CLIPS, NO SCREWS, and it requires NO TOOLS. Best part, it won’t obstruct your view of the road. This one installs directly into your CD player slot or in between the grooves of your dash. FAQs: My charge port is located on the side of my phone. Will this allow for me to charge it at the same time? Absolutely. Simply detach the support bar located at the bottom of the cradle, and you can easily mount your phone with the charge port exposed. Will the blade fit into a cassette tape slot? Unfortunately not, but we do have an adapter in development. Will the blade activate the CD’s auto loader? Although all CD players are made differently, the plastic blade is not long enough to activate the auto loading function. It is now against the law to hold your phone while driving. With the MT5000, you can use your device hands free and promote a safer highway.

I’ve tried most of the others and this is the one to buy,
I will try to be as concise as possible, as I plan to do a longer, more in-depth review on my website soon.
I have been looking for something to mount my smartphone in the car for a couple of months now. I tried models by Bracketron and Scosche, as well as some less-known brands.
Simply put, for most people’s needs, this product not only does the job better, but is so well thought out and engineered that I sincerely hope the developer gets his patent, ’cause everyone else will try to copy this.
It’s so simple. You just find a place to slide it in (like the slot on your CD player or one on your console); tighten a thumbscrew to secure it; and slip your device into the holder. It can lock on there nice and solid too.
Oh, and the build quality is excellent too. The others (which seemed OK at the time) look like cheap toys compared with this one. It is solid and gives you confidence that it is not going to break or be damaged while using it.
What more could you want in any kind of product?
The others are all going back now.

|This is what I have been looking for!,
So far I couldn’t be happier. This was exactly what I was looking for in a car mount. The construction is pretty solid and doesn’t budge at all. The mount slips into your car CD player and tightens with a screw on the bottom of the mount (see pictures). Installation took 5 seconds! Like I said it does not budge or move at all. The back of the mount has a ball socket so it is adjustable to your viewing angle. The mount also uninstalls in another 5 seconds and can be transferred to another car. A simple and genius invention!
Some of the concerns I had going into the purchase…
- I was worried that the CD Holder would activate the CD Tray. At least on my application it did not (2011 Hyundai Sonata). Obviously I can’t speak for every car but so far so good.
- The mount did not obstruct the power button, volume or usb power socket (of the phone/gps/mp3 etc).
- Can position in landscape or portrait due to the versatility of the ball socket mount.
- Max opening for phone/gps/mp3 player is 4″ so my gps will fit as well if I need it to. Has a push button release just like most universal mounts then just squeeze it to the size of the item
- Obviously you can’t change CDs very easily but this wasn’t an issue for me with Pandora and music on my phone playing through Bluetooth or AUX cable.
The only CONs so far is that the arms that collapse on the phone/gps/mp3 player are plastic and bend just slightly to hold the item firm. But shouldn’t be an issue as long as you don’t clamp it too tight.
Like I said… This is a quality mount and well worth the money! My experience with Mountek has been great.

|Better than the competition,
Just got a new iPhone 4 to replace my first-gen iPhone. I had to replace the mount in my car, and I looked at everything out there, including a lot of options that were $60+ dollars. This mount was quick to install, feels very sturdy, and the mounting mechanism is just plain clever. I’m buying two more to give to friends, happy to support a good product that’s well-designed and reasonably priced.
