About Sevylor
In 1948 in Vitry, a small suburb of Paris, France, Berco Grimbert created an electronics company called Societe Electronique de Vitry, or SEVY for short. Soon, a friend of Grimbert’s from New York commissioned SEVY to produce high frequency welding machines capable of fusing a new material called PVC (poly vinyl chloride). SEVY’s machines worked very well and the American friend developed a very successful business manufacturing swimming pool related products. He then taught SEVY how to work with PVC.

One of the first PVC products SEVY produced was inflatable bathtub called Dou Dou. It was an instant hit in postwar France–mothers could bathe their children even where no facilities were available. The media hailed Dou Dou as a significant invention. Soon, SEVY added small pools and flotation devices such as rings, beach balls, and inflatable swim jackets to its product line. Safe, hygienic products, made of PVC and designed for portability, durability and convenience, became the SEVY trademark.

The company quickly outgrew its small facilities in Vitry. Mr. Grimbert accepted an attractive offer from the French government to take over a defunct textile factor in the tiny Alsatian village of Buhl. After establishing its new headquarters, the company added the letters “lor” to its name, and became Sevylor. In French, l’or means gold. By coincidence, or possibly fate, Sevylor has proven to be “as good as gold” to its owners, retailers, consumers, and employees.

Considered a canoe, small boat / trailer, and high quality inflatable b4 making a purchase. Went with the Sevylor 325 Inflatable. Have used 17 times this summer! 10 minutes to unload and be on the water . . . 10 minutes to land and have stored in the car. Plenty of room for 1 adult and 1 or 2 kids. Have used for fishing small lakes and streams in Wisconsin. Stable. Well built.

Bought this for my wife, two kids and myself. It takes 5 or so minutes to pump up (hand pump)and 2 or 3 minutes to take down. It seem to be a solid and sturdy boat. Quality is above average. I use a 30 lb. thrust electric and it moves it well. It comes with a carry bag to take it from/to the lake and works pretty well. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because it only handles 2-3 people comfortably. I have hadme, my wife and 2 kids all in at the same time and all works well, just not quite enough room. I would say 3 people max for comfort. It is an awesome boat overall.

Not a cheap pool toy!!, Takes about 10 minutes to get up and running with all my gear. The sevylor motor mount and a minn kota electric transom motor work perfectly. Rolls up and fits in the back of any car with room to spare. Downsides are its a little heavy, must buy oars, motor, motor mount, battery, ect.. seperatly but well worth it, and depending on the air temp. inflation or deflation of air is required when in use.

Hello,

For the last three month I’ve got pretty bad experience with this Sevylor company product – Fish Master 325 and would like to share my experience with you.

In May 23rd 2009 I’ve bought my first boat and used it just three times. I’m sure I did everything right, used standard Sevylor pumps, only two persons were on the boat (approximately weight 400 pounds) etc. Anyway after third time the boat had been cut inside and I was not able to use it anymore. Well, the first boat was defected…I called to Amazon, explained the citation, sent the boat back with no charge and got my second boat…After four hours on the water the boat had been deflated 30-40%.. I thought something wrong was with the hull so we inflated it again and went to the water trip. After 15-20 min on the water the boat had been deflated 50% and finally we’ve got the accident!! So I lost all of my fishing tools.

I checked for the wholes after this “nice” trip and was not able to find out any. So I think the material PVC itself doesn’t work good.

Now I’m sending the second boat back to Amazon and have to pay UPS fees. Honestly I’m really disappointed with the product. I really appreciate Amazon.com help and my money back but I was not able to use the boat in my vacation time plus this boat had been already registered with IL Department of Natural Resources and I paid taxes and fees.

Does Sevylor company have quality control Department?
